What a lovely evening with the sweet little Neilsen family.  And lovely Lehi was the perfect spot for a little family time...

 This was the little guys first experience with bubbles...it was so darn cute!

The Vuissa Family

This session was honestly one of my favorite sessions ever.    Christian is a brilliant filmmaker that I know from my film school days at BYU and he has a beautiful wife and the most adorable children.  The Vuissa's were moving out of their home three days after we shot this - to Europe!  So just about everything they own was out and we just had the beautiful palette of bright windows, wood floors & white walls.  It was a dream come true for me.  So hold onto your hats, I'm gonna share a lot of images!

When I first got to their home their oldest was rockin out on her ipod and I grabbed this shot.  I just love it.

And she has some of the cutest wallpaper on her wall, don't you think?

And I love these little guys.  Those were their chairs and they were very happy that we took pictures in them.  I was too!

I loved this shot too. It took a while to get a smile out of sister but it was worth it!

We still had music, and if you've got music, you've gotta dance!

Now, all children have beautiful skin but these guys just G-L-O-W-E-D.  Must be all that raw milk they drink!

I loved this little moment.  I love how happy Dad looks and the mischievous look on the little guys face.

Then we headed to the bed.  And who doesn't love jumping on the bed?

And wise mom and dad gave out some lollipops to make happy children.

How about more of that milky skin?  I love these.  Isn't she beautiful?

I never tire of family shots on the bed.  It's such a real moment and always so pretty.

love Love LOVE: February's Photography Session Giveaway

My last give-away was honestly so much fun and so I decided to do a giveaway every month for the rest of 2010.  And since this month is February I am going to call this giveaway LOVE LOVE LOVE.

As you might have read, I am the mother of four boys.  But before that I am the wife to what I feel is the greatest man on the face of the planet.  You may not believe in soul mates but Michael is mine.  He is my best friend and I am a better woman because of his love.  This spring we will have been married for ten years and to celebrate we are going to have our pictures taken.  Not family portraits - just us.  And I think it's a marvelous idea.  We haven't had a "session" done of just us since really our wedding day.  And yet our love has grown exponentially since that time -we are so much more in love now than we were then.  As I imagine most people are.  And I also imagine none of you have had a session taken of just you are your husband or wife either.

So, to celebrate real lovers - guys and gals who have been together through thick and thin I am going to give away a "couples" session.  And to win this giveaway tell me your love story.  It could be a chronological story of how you met/fell in love.  Or you could tell me about how you show love for one another.  Either way, make it good and it wouldn't hurt to include an engagement/wedding photo either.  AND include WHERE you want your session to take place.  Make it somewhere with meaning to your relationship and tell me what that meaning is. Boy, this has all been so so exciting for me.  In the end I had nearly 200 possible winners.  So I put the names in a bowl and mixed em up.  I tried to pull a name out several times but got nervous that somehow I wasn't doing it right.  And I didn't want the stress of it on my shoulders so I asked my 8 year old to pull one out and the name he got was...

Bevins Family - Utah Valley Family Photography

First off, the Bevins are truly some of my oldest clients.  I love working with Randi and her cute family because they are always so comfortable in front of the camera and ready to play.  Though I was a little worried driving to this session because the snow was really coming down but when I got there the Bevins were totally excited about pictures in the beautiful snow so we went ahead with the session.  And I'm so glad we did - what beautiful images!

See what I mean?  Aren't they so much fun!?  What adorable kids!  The last time I took this little guys pictures he was only weeks old.  He was cute then and so darn cute now!  Couldn't you just eat him up!?

I love happy family pictures and these are some of my favorites ever...

And the girls have grown up so much I can't believe it - it's starting to make me feel old!

Goebel Family - Utah Valley Family Photography

Well, the Goebels came all the way from Texas to visit family for the holidays and I was able to spend a little time with them in the beautiful snow.  We headed down to Provo to shoot in this orchard and around town and got some beautiful images...and here are a few of my favorites.

First off, orchards are always one of my favorite places to shoot because of the symmetry of the rows, the lines that draw your eyes on forever, and the organic framing created by the trees themselves.  As you can see here...

And we had such fun playing in the snow and in the trees...loved it.  These girls were truly such dolls.  So easy to capture them having a great time.

I took this first shot after I told the girls to turn around and see what their mom and dad were up to and when they turned back around I got to snap the cute smiles they had.  

Can I tell you how much I love that image of having a kiss blown to me with such sweetness?  Obviously I love it a lot since I'm using it on the right here to link to my photography site.   This little gal was so funny.  She reminded me of my second - so expressive and so much to say.

And here is her older sister who knew how to pose to the max - a little beautiful model...

And I love these - I love the door,  I love the expressions, and I love the snow...

Don't you?  So good job, my Texan friends, at being able to look so great in the chilly weather and deep snow!
